On July 25th, 2025, at the Verona University Hospital (AOUI Verona), Professor Alessandro Antonelli and his team successfully performed three treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and one focal therapy for prostate cancer using the EchoLaser system with the TPLA – Transperineal Laser Ablation technique.
The procedures were carried out with high precision through transperineal access under ultrasound guidance, using micro-needles and optical laser fibers to deliver targeted thermal ablation.
The approach is minimally invasive, organ-sparing, and ejaculation-sparing, offering rapid recovery and excellent preservation of quality of life.
The session also welcomed specialist urologists from the United Kingdom, who attended as observers to explore the clinical potential of EchoLaser in their own healthcare settings.
